ESTL contributes to ESA workshops

ESTL ESA Final Presentation Days

ESTL recently attended the 2019 Mechanisms Workshop & Final Presentation Days hosted by ESA-ESTEC in Noordwijk, the Netherlands, with six people attending this two-day conference. The event presented various development activities to interested parties from the ESA member states. ESTL provided five presentations in total, covering a range of fluid and solid lubrication activities demonstrating the cutting edge in vacuum & space tribology:

  • Ongoing and Future Tribology Activities in ESTL – 2019
  • Characteristics of Low-Cost Solid Lubricants
  • Mechanisms of Fluid Lubrication Perspectives from Use of the ABTR
  • Environmental and Storage Effects on the Tribological Performance of MoS2
  • Overview of Long-Term Storage Effects on Mechanism Elements (LTS) Activity at ESTL

These presentations can be accessed via the ESTL Members Area, which is open to organisations based in the ESA Member States and Canada and contain over 250 technical reports and presentations.

ESTL also attended the B2B Space Mechanisms Legacy from New ESA players workshop, fostering cooperation and collaboration between newer and more experienced ESA member states in a changing Space 4.0 environment.

ESTL’s attendance at these events cements our place as Europe’s experts in vacuum and space tribology within these new and expanding fields.
