ESR Technology involvement with Hejre Development Project continues with EPC stage win

Technip have engaged ESR Technology to conduct EPC stage safety studies and quantitative risk analysis (QRA) for the DONG Energy HEJRE Development Project. This important win builds upon the FEED stage QRA that ESR previously conducted for the HEJRE platform, and a number of other offshore and refinery design safety studies for Technip.

The HEJRE project development is located in the Danish sector of the North Sea, at a water depth of 70 metres. The engineering, procurement, fabrication, hook-up, and commissioning assistance for a fixed wellhead and process platform and associated facilities is being undertaken by Technip in partnership with DSME. The ultimate client is DONG Energy and BAYERNGAS.

The platform includes 11,500-ton topsides supported by a 6,500-ton jacket, and is designed to process high pressure and high temperature hydrocarbons fluids. The platform, which also comprises a living quarter to accommodate 70 people and a flare, will be capable of producing up to 76 million standard cubic feet of gas per day and 35,000 barrels of oil per day.

ESR Technology’s technical safety input will:

  • Demonstrate that a quantified assessment of the risks associated with the operations of the HEJRE Platform has been performed and that the risk levels achieved comply with the project risk criteria
  • Provide comments/recommendations on the need for further risk mitigation
  • Provide an ALARP demonstration
  • Provide input for other safety engineering studies including Passive Fire Protection requirement that are an integral part of the design engineering process

ESR Technology Technical Director Neil Ketchell commented: “I am very pleased that we have secured this important win. It underlines Technip’s confidence in our ability to deliver high quality services on technically complex projects. We very much look forward to working with the project team in Paris, many of whom we know from the FEED stage of this project.”
