ESR Technology hosts HOIS meeting
March HOIS meeting in Oxford
ESR Technology recently hosted a very successful HOIS meeting at the Oxford Spires Hotel for their clients in the oil & gas industry. Over forty representatives from the HOIS member companies gathered together for lively and informative discussion around project update presentations given by ESR staff, including a well attended “working group” meeting on a project concerning the development of guidance on image quality for UAV (drone) based external remote visual inspection in the oil and gas industry.
The regular HOIS meetings are always a good opportunity for networking. At this meeting the HOIS dinner was at the Oxford Union and HOIS members followed in the footsteps of other visitors to this prestigious location including Michael Jackson, the Dalai Lama, Mother Teresa, and Albert Einstein! It was a very enjoyable occasion, in spectacular surroundings, to relax and catch up with familiar faces as well as making new connections with people attending for the first time.
The last morning session was reserved for defining the forward programme for the upcoming HOIS year (April 2017- March 2018), during which four new projects were approved. The HOIS membership suggests and then subsequently votes on fully costed project proposals to ensure that the HOIS programme reflects industry priorities.
