ESR Technology attends Oil & Gas Safety 30 Conference in Aberdeen

ESR Technology attended the Oil & Gas Safety 30 Conference in Aberdeen in June 2018. The conference provided an opportunity to reflect on the changes in Offshore Safety since the Piper Alpha Tragedy in 1988 and to discuss safety future issues with over 700 Oil Industry delegates, a range of exhibitors and over seventy high quality presentations and technical papers.

ESR Technology’s Dave Mansfield and Steve Forster presented a paper on Perspectives in Addressing Cumulative Risk that was very well attended and led to a lively debate and discussion. The presentation built on our experiences in developing the CORAM cumulative risk tool, deploying it in the North Sea with a major operator and our ongoing development of the tool into a web-based application.

Our exhibition stand was well attended, providing an opportunity to discuss ESR Technology’s latest developments in safety and risk management tools and techniques including:

  • CORAM web-based tool for cumulative risk assessments;
  • Major hazards training courses;
  • OpenFOAM for enhanced CFD modelling;
  • DELOS – 3D fire ang gas detector mapping software.
