ESTL Celebrates Its 500th Members’ Area User

30th January 2026

Technical documents generated by our experts in ESTL (the European Space Tribology Laboratory) are accessible to companies within the ESA Member States, and Cooperating states (including Canada) through ESTL’s Website Members’ Area. Registration provides access to around 340 technical reports and papers covering all aspects of space tribology.  Recently added reports include “Tribological Performance of New European Oils”, “Tribological Testing of Low Temperature Fluid Blends” and “Feasibility Study of Advanced Inspection Techniques”.

Registration is free, and this week we celebrated the registration of our 500th user, who is from Harmonic Drive SE in Germany. Our registered users come from 25 states (both ESA Member and Cooperating states) and right across the space industry, encompassing institutions such as ESA and CNES, major spacecraft primes (Airbus, Thales Alenia Space, OHB), instrument, equipment, component and lubricant manufacturers and suppliers, as well as many academic institutions.  Of course, these days too we have a rapidly growing number of  “NewSpace” member companies signing up, with 12 added in the last 6 months alone. The data is equally accessible and valuable for the largest and smallest entities, and around 25% of our users are registered SMEs.
