2026 So Far: Key Highlights at ESR Technology

15th April 2026

During the early months of 2026, ESR Technology has continued to support clients across safety-critical and high-reliability sectors through technical consultancy, engineering solutions and industry engagement. Our strong start to the year reflects our continued commitment to technical excellence, thought leadership and the development of engineering services aligned with evolving sectors.

Supporting Industry Through Events

At the beginning of this year, ESR Technology hosted its first-ever Women in STEM Webinar, featuring female experts from across the business. The session provided the audience with insight into technical work undertaken across ESR’s multiple specialist teams, as well as highlighted different career stages and pathways associated with the STEM industry.

Building on this, many of our consultants have contributed to other external seminars, conferences and technical forums in 2026 to date.

Key Event Highlights:

  • The Safety and Risk Management team has exhibited and attended multiple events in 2026, including the OEUK HSE Conference, the Chemical Industries Association (CIA) Hydrofluoric Acid Users Annual Conference, and OEUK Share Fair 2026.
  • Stephen Lewis, Principal Consultant, has represented the National Centre of Tribology and has attended both the V/T SIC (Vehicle/Track System Interface Committee) and ADHERE (ADHEsion REsearch challenge) seminars. He was also present at the Making a Point: Developments in S&C Design, Installation and Maintenance, Railway Engineering Institution (RailEI) Technical Seminar. Key takeaways and connections made at these events will help support the team as it focuses on expanding work within the rail industry.
  • ESTL presented at ESA’s Final Presentation Days, an event we attend on an annual basis. The team also presented at this year’s Gear Workshop ahead of the main event. The increased presence at the event consisted of seven presentations delivered across the three days held at ESTEC.
  • The Inspection Consultancy team has had a quieter start to the year, focusing on HOIS, a joint industry project managed by ESR Technology. HOIS hosted its final (online) meeting of the 2025/26 year in March and has also successfully hosted two Digitalisation Forum Webinars in 2026 so far.

Strengthening Expertise and Capabilities

ESR Technology has continued to strengthen its technical capability through the addition of multiple new personnel across several specialist teams within the organisation. The new additions have contributed to increased depth of expertise, supported workload growth, service continuity, and the development of emerging technical areas. By integrating new engineers and scientists, ESR Technology has enhanced its capacity to deliver robust analysis, assessment, and consultancy services across its core sectors.

Looking Ahead

With a strong technical and commercial platform established at the start of 2026, ESR Technology is well placed to continue supporting clients across complex engineering challenges. The remainder of the year will see further events, content, and initiatives delivered across the business, continuing to support clients, develop our teams, and contribute positively to the industries we serve.
