ESR Technology was pleased to welcome two GCSE students for a week of hands-on work experience.
As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting early career development, the students took part in a packed programme of activities across the business. From investigating space mechanisms in our cleanroom and carrying out testing in our National Centre of Tribology (NCT) laboratories, to practising data analysis and completing mini projects to present at the end of the week, they gained valuable insight into a real-world STEM and engineering environment.
Throughout the week, the students had the opportunity to work alongside our teams, learn more about the different areas of expertise within ESR Technology and develop practical skills and experience that could help shape their future career choices.
Phillip said, “It was a very useful week where I got to work with lots of people and got to test out new machines and methods. My favourite part was getting to design my own CAD design then go on the tensile testing machine and see how much load the material could take before it snapped. I would recommend having work experience here.”
We’re proud to continue supporting the next generation of scientists and engineers by giving young people the opportunity to experience STEM careers first-hand.
A huge well done to Phillip and Finnlay for all your hard work and enthusiasm throughout the week. We wish you both every success with the rest of your studies and whatever the future holds!
