Contact point corrosion and external corrosion scab trials with ROSEN
Recently, we had the pleasure of hosting Ben Spree and Chris Riley from ROSEN at the HOIS facility in Oxfordshire. They participated in blind trials on our contact point corrosion and external corrosion scabs samples, inspecting over 40 components using ROSEN‘s EMAT CIRC technology.
ROSEN’s EMAT CIRC tool is an in-service inspection method, eliminating the need for extensive surface preparation or couplant. The ultrasonic pulse is generated within the metallic test specimen itself. These rigorously controlled blind trial programs provide an independent evaluation of inspection technologies, contributing to the development of HOIS guidance for the energy industry.
We look forward to future collaborations with ROSEN on HOIS trials and can’t wait to share the results of this trial with HOIS members.
