ESR Technology is pleased to acknowledge Chris Proud, Aberdeen Technical Lead for our Safety and Risk Management team, for his contributions to the OEUK Offshore Flare and Vent Systems good practice document.
Titled ‘Offshore Flare and Vent Systems – Identified Issues and Associated Good Practice, Issue 2’, this technical note offers key insights into the design, operation, and maintenance of offshore flare and vent systems. It highlights critical challenges, including unintentional flare extinguishment, insufficient purging systems, and venting risks, while proposing best practices to effectively address and mitigate these concerns.
The work of the Vent and Flare Technical Group builds upon our longstanding involvement with the OEUK Major Hazards Forum. Over the years, we have contributed to the development of various guidance materials, including those on Cumulative Risk, Risk Related Decision Making, Failure Frequency data collection, and more.
As part of OEUK membership, members can access the industry guidelines free of charge, or they are available to purchase on the OEUK website.
