ESR Technology is delighted to welcome Richard Tiffin into the Safety and Risk Management (SRM) Team in the Warrington office. Richard brings a wealth of experience supporting companies operating high hazard sites, assessing the risks to the safety of people and the environment, and demonstrating that the necessary safety management systems and processes are in place. Richard has been involved in the production, review and update of Safety Reports for a wide variety of sites that are regulated under the Control of Major Accident Hazards (COMAH) Regulations.
Richard has also provided advice and support to new COMAH developments on planning requirements, including; producing the Environmental Impact Assessment chapter on major accidents and disasters, and Hazardous Substances Consent for the storage of controlled substances.
Richard has also worked on offshore wind projects during the design and installation phases, running hazard identification workshops, and ensuring that the risks are reduced to As Low As Reasonably Practicable through the design, with ALARP demonstrations being produced as part of a design safety case. This aims to ensure that operations teams have the necessary information to manage the risks for the lifetime of the assets.
Richard is enjoying meeting everyone at ESR Technology and is amazed at the range of knowledge and expertise that exists in the SRM Team, European Space Tribology Laboratory (ESTL), and the National Centre of Tribology (NCT). Richard is looking forward to working together in the future.
